School dropouts in the Philippines: causes, changes and statistics

School dropout is a major problem as it has negative impacts that result in high social costs. A learner can be called when the fails to enroll school despite having reached mandatory age. This paper aims identify root causes of dropouts Philippines, specifically all regions for years 2008 and 2013. The secondary data on proportion population 6 24 old who are not attending from website Philippine Statistics Authority were used. analyzed using R version 4.2.1. employed descriptive statistics, namely frequency percentage dropping out Philippines grouped according region year. Percentage change (increase decrease) explored track changes dropouts. findings indicated cost education, student employment or seeking 2013, respectively. Based findings, recommended government, through Department Education, should prioritize programs will address with goal decreasing rate general.
